Ricky Lynn Bell
(April 8, 1955 - November 28, 1984)

Attended John C. Freemont High School (Los Angeles) and USC. A running back drafted in the first round of the 1977 draft. Played for Tampa Bay (1977-1981) and San Diego (1982). Gained 3,063 yards and scored 16 career touchdowns rushing. Gained 1,263 yards in 1979 season. Died of rare muscle disease that also prematurely ended his career.

Theo Bell
(December 21, 1953 - June 21, 2006)

Attended Bakersfield High School (California) and Arizona. A wide receiver drafted in the fourth round of the 1976 draft. Played for Pittsburgh (1976-1980) and Tampa Bay (1981-1985). Gained 1,470 yards and scored 4 career touchdowns for the Bucs. He averaged 15.5 yards per catch. His best season was 1980 when he caught 29 passes for 748 yards and 2 TDs. Bell earned Super Bowl Rings with the Steelers in 1979 and 1980. He died from complications related to kidney disease and scleroderma.

Cornellius Connie "Neal" Colzie
(February 28, 1953 - August 20, 2001)

Attended Coral Gables High School (Florida) and Ohio State. A defensive back drafted in the first round of the 1975 draft by the Oakland Raiders. Played for Oakland (1975-1978), Miami (1979) and Tampa Bay (1980-1983). Had 25 career interceptions (10 with the Bucs). Played in 46 games for the Bucs with 29 starts.

Stephen Paul Courson
(October 1, 1955 - November 10, 2005)

Attended Ithaca High School (New York) and South Carolina. A fifth round draft selection in 1977. He was an offensive lineman who played for the Steelers (1978-83) and the Bucs (84-85). He started 25 of 30 games for the Bucs. After his retirement he admitted the use of steroids and became an advocate against their use. He death resulted from a tree cutting accident.

Hugh Franklin Culverhouse Sr.
(February 20, 1919 - 1994)

Attended the University of Alabama where he earned a B.S. and a law degree. He served as Assistant Attorney General for the State of Alabama from 1947 to 1949. He was known as an expert in the field of taxation, was a lawyer, land developer and philanthropist. He owned the Tampa Bay Buccaneers flrom 1976 to the time of his death in 1994.

Demetrius Adolphus DuBose
(March 23, 1971 - July 24, 1999 )

Attended Bishop O'Dea High School (Seattle) and Notre Dame. A linebacker drafted in the second round of the 1993 draft. Played for Tampa Bay (1993-1996). Collected 63 career tackles in 60 games played (5 starts). Was starting a career in professional volleyball when he was shot and killed by San Diego police officers. Abraham "Abe" Gibron
(September 22, 1925 - September 23, 1997)

Attended Elston High School (Michigan City, Indiana) and Purdue University. Drafted in the sixth round of the 1949 draft as a defensive lineman by the Giants. Played professionally from 1949 to 1959. Was an assistant coach with the Redskins and Bears from 1960 to 1971. Bears Head Coach from 1972 to 1974 and Head Coach of the WFL Chicago Winds in 1975. Buccaneers Defensive Line Coach from 1976 to 1984.

Ronald Edwin "Ron" Hall
(March 15, 1963 - May 24, 2007)

Attended San Pascual High School (Escondido, CA) and the University of Hawaii. A Tight End who was drafted in the fourth-round of the 1987 draft. Played for the Bucs (1987-1994) and Lions (1995). Hall Played in 101 games for the Bucs, starting 90. He had 209 catches for 2,422 yards (2nd all-time for Bucs TEs), and 10 TDs. Hall won the Ed Block Courage Award for the Bucs in 1990. That same season he was named to the Sports Illustrated all-pro team. He died of natural causes.

Brice H. Hunter
(April 21, 1974 - April 19, 2004)

Attended Valdosta High School (Georgia) and the University of Georgia. A wide receiver drafted in the seventh round of the 1997 draft by the Miami Dolphins, he played for Tampa Bay in 1997 and 1998. He appeared in 13 games with 4 catches for 74 yards. His most memorable moment was a 45-yard Hail Mary TD reception as time expired in the first half of a 1998 game against the Bears in Chicago. He died as a result of gunshot wounds following an argument with his neightbor.

David Logan
(October 25, 1956 - January 12, 1999)

Attended Peabody High School (Pittsburgh) and the University of Pittsburgh. A defensive lineman drafted in the twelfth round of the 1979 draft, he played for Tampa Bay (1977-1986) and Green Bay (1987). He appeared in 110 games (started 103). Amassed 624 career tackles and 38.5 sacks. Died of a heart attack.

John Harvey McKay
(July 5, 1923 - June 10, 2001)

Attended Shinnston High School (West Virginia) and attended Purdue University and graduated from the University of Oregon. He was drafted as a running back by the New York Yankees (AAFC). He was the Head Coach at USC from 1960 to 1975 and led them to four national championships. He was the first Bucs Head Coach and led them to three playoff appearances while coaching from 1976 to 1984. He died of kidney failure related to diabetes.

Reginald Henry "Reggie" Roby
(July 30, 1961 - February 23, 2005)

Attended East Waterloo High School (Waterloo, IA) and the University of Iowa. A punter drafted in the sixth round of the 1983 draft by Miami. Played for Miami (1983-1992), Washington (1993-1994), Tampa Bay (1995), Houston/Tennessee (1996-1997), and San Francisco (1999). He led the AFC in 1991 with an average punt of 45.7 yards, and he holds the Pro Bowl record with 10 punts in the 1985 game.

Stalney Shakespeare
(Feb 5, 1963 - Apr 26, 2005)

Attended Lake Worth High School (Lake Worth, FL) and the University of Miami. A Wide receiver who played in one game for the strike replacement Buccaneers in 1987. He played for the national champion Miami Hurricanes and caught two of his career four TD passes (from Vinny Testeverde) in the noteable game against Doug Flutie and Boston College. He died in a boating accident.

Daniel Anthony "Dan" Turk
(June 25, 1962 - December 25, 2000)

Attended James Madison High School (Milwaukee, Wisconsin) and the University of Wisconsin. An offensive lineman and long snapper drafted in the fourth round of the 1985 draft by Pittsburgh. Played for Pittsburgh (1985-1986), Tampa Bay (1987-1988), Los Angeles/Oakland Raiders (1989-1997) and Washington (1998-1999). Infamously known for botched snap in 1999 playoff game that resulted in a Bucs victory. Died of cancer.
